The Next Faithful Step
God has been so good to us.
That’s where we started this week. We looked up and looked back. We remembered who God is and what He’s already done among us.
We talked about the life we’re sharing. We’re a community of people, centered on Jesus, devoted to one another. God has brought us together, and each of us has something to bring into this community.
We brought our needs before our Father. He knows what we need. He knows what our families are carrying. He knows what we’re facing as a church.
And we considered how His generosity toward us can shape our generosity toward one another.
And there’s still a mountain in front of us.
Our church needs approximately $1,600 a week in giving, and we’ve been averaging around $750. That’s a real gap.
In James 1:5, we’re told to ask God for wisdom when we need it. And we need it. We need wisdom for our church. We need wisdom for our families. We need His help figuring out what faithfulness looks like with what we’ve been given.
That’s why we’ve being doing this week. Seeking wisdom from God.
And as we finish the week, I want to return to Sunday’s challenge:
If you haven’t started giving, would you begin?
If you give sometimes, would you consider giving regularly?
If you give regularly, thank you. Would you ask God whether you’re able to give more? Or whether continuing what you’re already giving is your faithful part right now?
Take some time to look at your finances. Talk with your spouse if you’re married. Pray about what you can give, and make a plan to follow through. And if you’re struggling to meet your own needs, share that too so we can care for you.
We’re a community of people, centered on Jesus, devoted to one another. Let’s keep praying and take the next faithful step together.
God, You’ve been so good to us. Thank You for bringing us together. You know what our church needs and what each of our families is carrying. We’re asking You to provide. Give us wisdom, generous hearts, and the willingness to follow through. Help us carry this together. Amen.
